An Interview With Senator Adam Schiff
Yesterday, after Kash Patel’s confirmation hearing for the role of FBI Director, I spoke with Senator Adam Schiff about the erosion of democracy, Trump’s authoritarian ambitions, and the dangerous rise of loyalists like Patel.

Keith Edwards:
I think Kash Patel acted like a petulant child during his hearing. He came across as entitled and unwilling to face accountability. One of the most striking moments was when he refused to turn around and acknowledge the Capitol Police, instead telling you to ask them your questions.
What did you think about that moment?
Adam Schiff:
Well, it was telling. I asked him to turn to those camera police officers whose fellow officers on January 6th were attacked and bear sprayed and pepper sprayed, and assaulted in part by members of his January 6th choir that he was so proud to promote.
