Do it now, Andy. Don’t wait another moment. Watch these “states rights” chuds go ballistic. After that old son of a bitch slow walked Obama’s SCOTUS pick then slammed through Amy Coney Barrett right at the bitter end. Screw these people! It serves them right. Suck it, MAGA! Suck it hard!

Romell Reed's avatar

Grow a spine and some balls democrats!! What would the republicans do?

Leslie J's avatar

I've called his office twice. I finally said he'll never be president if he doesn't fight.

monique's avatar

So he can talk 20 mins to the republicans but not the governor? Investigate! More corruption.

TES's avatar

The governor has cultivated a caustic and unprofessional relationship between his office and the elected Senators.

David Gunn's avatar

That’s good. It means Governor Beshear is doing a good job.

TES's avatar

Of course a demonRAT is only there for the power and perks, not for the people.

Mary Evelyn Conner's avatar

That’s what needs to be threatened. His future aspirations and his current seat should be in jeopardy, if he doesn’t sack up, and choose a replacement.

Lovey (Lyuba) Scully's avatar

Of course they would do it. Repubs never ask for permission.

A Mountain View's avatar

Lie and cheat, as per usual dear

Stacy Ed's avatar

And steal, don’t forget that one.

Poschmann's avatar

McConnell started this by denying President Obama’s Supreme court Nomination!! What goes around comes around

Jayne Gray's avatar

I'm a Democrats and I agree with you. Grab this opportunity and put our man in McConnell seat. He had no problem delaying President Obama's pick, which he did deliberately to Republican advantage. Besides, mitch would have lost anyway.

Michael Donahoe's avatar

Exactly. I am so tired of words with no actions.

Cat Mcdowell's avatar

Balls? Sarah Silverstein.

TES's avatar

We would follow the Constitution and know that the voters can only remove a dually elected senator.

Haas's avatar

McConnell himself described the Garland precedent as belonging to a divided government, then confirmed Barrett with six weeks left in Trump's term under a Republican Senate. The 'states rights' argument against appointing now is the same playbook with a different speaker.

TES's avatar

So what he had the power and authority to do it. Suck it.

Sandra Shebongsalot's avatar

Just waiting for the Republicans to tell us what to do.

TES's avatar

If it was only that easy to get you to walk into the ocean and never return.

Sandra Shebongsalot's avatar

Sounds about right, coming from a pedo protecting rapeublikkkan.

TES's avatar

BTW demonRATS started the KKK and continue to this day.

Mark Poprawa's avatar

If you know anything about history , you'd know that the KKK was formed by 6 ex- Confederate soldiers in 1865. Then supported by the conservative Southern Democrats who are now today the Republican party. They transitioned from being called Democrats to today's Republicans in the 1960's because they were against the civil rights movement. Knowing historical facts are kind of important when espousing your beliefs.

Cindy Schneider's avatar

Thank you for your display of ignorance......or deflection, whichever. There are no Confederates marching for Democrates today, and they fascists sure as hell don't support the party of Lincoln.

TES's avatar

Got any proof of your pedo charges? I mean real proof not just your demonRAT telephone game talking points where you all add crap with no evidence.

Sandra Shebongsalot's avatar

If you-d take his dick out of your mouth, you could see the proof everywhere you moronic knuckle dragging freak. Take the dick out of your mouth

TES's avatar

And so...no proof.

TES's avatar

LOL and I really do mean LOL I can just imagine you saying your vile lies shaking and convulsing like the videos on tiktok. We find them highly entertaining to laugh at.

ILearnFromYou's avatar

Proof? That's funny. Whose corrupt DOJ has violated the law refusing to release documents related to Trump's pedo problem? Which group of women has been telling their stories for YEARS to deaf MAGA-supporting ears?

Proof?! Willfully ignorant people won't care about proof!

Sally's avatar

Do it! Then make them PROVE he’s alive.

I am on medical leave. I have to have a letter from my surgeon saying I’m fit for work before I can go back. In the meantime, I’ve had phone calls and text messages with workmates and management.

McConnell answers to his constituents. He needs to do the same.

Cindy Schneider's avatar

My husband was on hospice, literally dying of cancer and his job forced him to work, he drove a forklift, but I had to drive him back and forth to work, and watch him barely able to walk across the parking lot. He had to be re-evaluated every month.

Sally's avatar

That’s horrendous. I’m so sorry this happened to you both.

Cindy Schneider's avatar

Thank you, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. He was a good and decent man.

TES's avatar

His job forced him to work? What's the real story? The whole story, not the fake one.

Cindy Schneider's avatar

What is funny is how you think being a royal C you next Tuesday is strength or intelligence. Pathetic.

Sandra Shebongsalot's avatar

Just waiting for the Republicans to tell us what to do.

Kim McCormick's avatar

If you don't fear the truth look outside of right wing news outlets and learn what is true about immigrants to America. You are believing people who are lying to promote hatred and Nazi type tactics against defenseless human beings. I know that you believe whatever you are told without requiring evidence or you would know the facts on immigration. You may not support Trump but you are as lacking in honor, morality, and human decency as his followers are, I don't know how you survive without ethics.

Cindy Schneider's avatar

Not to mention Trump was impeached twice first misadministration, and this self dealing prick refused to convict him! McConnell was no Barry Goldwater. This WAS the legal route to remove a criminal President. “Unitary Executive theory” is a fascist takeover of our Constitutional republic!

TES's avatar

Trump wasn't guilty no matter how much you lie about it.

Mitch Wasserman's avatar

May claim the power to install a new Senator???

What the hell is he waiting for??? Pick a Democrat and put his or her on the next flight to Washington and get it done!!!

What’s happened to our country?!

Agent of Chaotic Respite's avatar

It really all began with St. Ronnie the Forgetful, back in the election of 1980. The Robber Barons never got over their hatred for FDR's New Deal and the social justice movements that emerged from it. They've played the long "divide and conquer" game of class warfare by pitting us against each other whilst they accumulated power and amassed wealth. TFG and his MAGAt Qultists are merely symptoms of the Epstein class' pathology.

Oh, is Pelosi missing? The Dems were honest enough not to let Dianne Feinstein continue to occupy a Senate seat, if we're comparing notes. Rs let a NJ Congressman be AWOL for 4 months with no explanation why. The two sides are not the same, so lose the false equivalance narrative.

Remind me who hung with Epstein, bragged about walking into dressing rooms with naked young girls and had to pay $5 million to a woman he raped and still owes her $87 million. The fact that you as a woman would defend him says a whole hell of a lot about you, none of it good.

Elise Solomon's avatar

How come we can see live pictures of JB? And the citrus colored man is not a pedophile? Wasn’t releasing the files something he used as a campaign tool? Wow. You are not very intelligent are you?

SPW's avatar

Oh stick it!

Lisamanv's avatar

I'm not a big fan of Pelosi but she sure as hell doesn't belong in the same category as mitch. My issue with her is age, we need to get younger reps who are thinking about their own futures.

Mary Evelyn Conner's avatar

And she is not running for re-election…or missing…

Agent of Chaotic Respite's avatar

Agreed - long past time to pass the torch to younger elected officials. I'm reminded of JFK's speech announcing a new generation being given their rightful opportunity to lead (said the late-stage progressive, liberal Boomer). 😎✌️

Susan Paquette's avatar

Agree 100% with your first comment, but "age" alone should not be a qualifier nor disqualifier. Congressional salaries, $174,000/yr (and up?), full top tier health insurance, guaranteed retirement, per diem allowances for food, etc assures a comfortable "future" for anyone once they are elected!! Now I would favor a written test for all candidates and existing members, similar to the citizenship test required for those seeking US citizenship!!

Lisamanv's avatar

I don't know if you've seen this but just in case.

Mary Evelyn Conner's avatar

Sybau. Is Pelosi even running???? Is Pelosi missing??? I didn’t think so…but Mitch and many other Republican congresspeople are. Police your own party, before you come over here acting crazy.

Lisamanv's avatar

Also, trump is the swamp.

Bridget's avatar

Trump is the reflecting pool

Donna Love's avatar

If the roles were reversed, McConnell would do it in a heartbeat.

Jan Finnie's avatar

He has done it when he refused to allow Obama to appoint a Supreme Court Justice because the Election was only a few months away and then jumped like a Rabbit to appoint Amy Comey Barrett before Trump was even inaugurated!

Rick Boarman's avatar

Jan. Trump was President when she was appointed. He lost to Biden right after that. Mitch McConnell may he burn in hell was instrumental in both Kavanaugh and Barrett nominations.

Donna Love's avatar

The FBI investigation into Kavanaugh’s background that was proposed by then-Senator Jeff Flake and agreed upon by the Senate (at least that’s what I remember) never happened. The tip line that was created, supposedly for the public, dead-ended in the White House counsel’s office. People who said that they called and left messages repeatedly were never called back. It was all smoke and mirrors.

And then there was the mysterious disappearance of Kavanaugh’s large credit card debt. No one, as far as I know, has ever explained how that happened.

CB's avatar
2dEdited

“Few months away…” I believe it was something like 7 months, which makes it all the more outrageous that they slammed Barrett into the position just weeks before the election. They are complete and utter hypocrites who would do what Beshear is contemplating without any hesitation. Republicans take, cheat, lie, and do. Democrats beg, plead, reason, and ask permission. This is why we’re weak.

Jan Finnie's avatar

I stand corrected!

Haas's avatar

Of course he would. McConnell's principles are whatever outcome benefits McConnell. The remarkable thing is not that he would do it without hesitation, but that his opponents treat this as a revelation rather than his operating manual.

Political Violins's avatar

So stop talking about it and appoint his fucking replacement.

Haas's avatar

The case for waiting has been roadtested for a year. The results are visible without a microscope.

Colleen's avatar

Get the job done! One month is more than enough! Replace him ASAP!

TES's avatar

He doesn't have the authority.

Political Violins's avatar

Do it anyway and let the sniveling right wing cucks take it to court.

That’s how those bitches operate.

Goose/gander

TES's avatar

LOL an injunction would stop it, hour 1. Then can't wait for the campaign ads where he exposed for deliberately and maliciously trashing the US Constitution. But then again that would be a plus for the demonRATS. They hate the USA, trash it daily but we just can't get them to leave.

Makeitblue's avatar

Ok governor put on your big boy pants and go straight to dc and demand to see McConnell. You want a future in the Democratic Party? Walk the walk.

Shoshanna's avatar

Do. Something. Now.

Hire a process server to serve him with something.

At this point, it's beyond ridiculous.

Set a deadline for him to make himself seen and heard, or cut the cord, once and for all.

SootheSlayer's avatar

17 days to the deadline. Nothing but talk. Shit, or get off the pot Andy. If Democrats can’t be aggressive, they should fucking go away. Quit playing nice. Force your agenda, legally. Give him 24 hours to meet, face to face and then appoint someone. Kennedy tried to be a team player, ease transitions and all that shit. It didn’t work and then it got him killed.

Quit trying to be fucking nice and accommodating. We all know politicians are well compensated pieces of shit. Democrats just happen to mask their stink a smidge better.

They didn’t fight hard enough during Bush/Gore. They bowed to McConnell when Scalia died then rolled over when Ginsburg died. Get a fucking spine.

Margaret Mckibben's avatar

If he can sit up in bed smiling and reading a paper next to his wife, he can certainly see his states governor in person.

TES's avatar

LOL I wouldn't let a liar like the Kentucky Governor anywhere near me. No way did any federal agencies call him about McConnell. If individual employees did disseminate false information in the name of the agency, they need to be fired.

US Taxpayer's avatar

Senator Mitch McConnell’s death is a serious matter. Governor Beshear must appoint a senator in his vacant seat. The people deserve representation. That is the basis of our Democratic Republic. The Governor must fulfill his duties or resign.

Elizabeth Conklin's avatar

Actually, Beshear cannot appoint a replacement, but can call an election within the next few days. That’s why it’s urgent to get the settled to get that process going, or the time will run out.

Shaye's avatar

You should read your state constitution!

Jo's avatar
1dEdited

Republicans were denying him that right.

US Taxpayer's avatar

You are correct. Some states must hold a special election instead of appointing an acting senator. Kentucky is one of those states.

Hayley Skylar's avatar

The state constitution says otherwise. The Guardians of Pedophiles Party tried to change the law to require a special election instead of an appointment but if it is contradictory to the Constitution the law could be found as such.

I think the complication is that the KY Constitution refers to state vacancies and Senate is technically a federal vacancy but the practice before Beshear was to allow the governor to fill vacancies in general by appointment.

PatchyGroundFog 🐎's avatar

Beshear found a way for him to appoint. Read his comments.

Daniel Howley's avatar

I think Beshear asserted that Kentucky's constitution does give him the power to appoint a replacement.

Jo's avatar

This Congress hasn’t represented the people in decades!

Sue Stine's avatar

Social Security informed that he died?

Leslie J's avatar

Usually the funeral home does that?

Sue W.'s avatar

Both, actually.

David Gunn's avatar

I’ll bet that little gobshite punk Markwayne Mullin and his Daddy Trump would allow a mail-in ballot from McConnell if it were actually in their power to do so.

Cindy's avatar

Hey Andy, how much more do you need to actually DO SOMETHING?

Vernon's avatar

What would Mitch do? We all know what he would do. Make the appointment, Gov. Beshear.

Jill B.'s avatar

I think that he’s deader than dog shit. They just don’t want a Democrat to be assigned to his Republican seat.

Jan Finnie's avatar

I absolutely agree with that assessment…Deader than Dog Shit! 💩💩💩💩

Mary Ellen Becht's avatar

Do what you are supposed to do Andy. The refucklicans are being evasive take action. Death comes in threes. Graham. McConnell and hopefully someone else we all hope. Talk about refucklicans cheating in elections. This is proof.

Jan Finnie's avatar

I adore the Refucklicans! Very Clever !

Shaye's avatar

More like childish fascists. You should go back to trash social…it’s all you can understand. You are a traitor to the United States!

Lawrence Brown's avatar

Stop talking about it and ACT, Governor!

Kay's avatar

Republicans appointed Lady G”s sister as his replacement …. they do whatever they wish …. Time to take a page out of their book.

Peggy M's avatar

Why was there no election required ? If they can appoint in Graham’s situation why can’t the Gov just appoint a replacement for McConnell?

If he is dead is it social Security fraud not to report it?

Gardengirl82's avatar

Someone needs to be charged with fraud if he has been on life support all of this damn time. The American people have important votes that require it
